Bala Mohammed Attends Bauchi PDP Presidential Rally
Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State attended the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Campaign rally in the state.
Naija News reports that the opposition party held its presidential campaign rally at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium in Bauchi on Tuesday.
Speaking at the event, Mohammed argued that Bauchi State is a PDP stronghold, and advised the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) not to bother to campaign in the state.
The governor also expressed optimism that all the party’s candidates would emerge victorious in the forthcoming 2023 general elections.
Naija News recalls that the governor was said to have joined forces with the five aggrieved PDP governors identified as the G-5 to battle the party’s flagbearer, Atiku Abubakar.
But the governor, in a statement, distanced himself from a purported alliance with Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, and his allies, and declared his support for Atiku.
The G-5 governors have vowed to work against Atiku in the 2023 presidential election over the refusal of the party’s national chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, to resign from office.
The aggrieved governors had condemned northern dominance in key positions in the party, hence their call for Ayu to resign.
