PDP Crisis: Orbih’s Faction Back APC, Rejects Reconciliation With Gov Obaseki

Despite the ruling of the Supreme Court, the end to the crisis rocking the Edo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) doesn’t seem any closer.
Naija News understands that the Dan Orbih-led faction in the Edo PDP has refused to reconcile with the Governor Godwin Obaseki-led faction, snubbing the party’s Edo North senatorial rally in Auchi.
Although both Obaseki and Orbih had called for peace and reconciliation after the Apex court ruling, that may be impossible, going by the information coming out of Orbih’s camp.
According to The Nation, members of the Orbih-led faction, during a meeting held in Benin, vowed not to reconcile.
Reacting to the absence of the faction from the rally, a source said doors of reconciliation had been foreclosed and that they would work with All Progressives Congress (APC) to teach Obaseki a lesson.
He said: “We have foreclosed any crook and cranny deceitful reconciliation to be used for selfish interest. We have been on this crisis since 2020. Why now?
‘’The reality of the impending doom is staring at their faces. They should face it. We cannot be deceived again. APC, even as the major opposition party in the state is friendlier to us, and most of us are going to work with the party’s candidates to win.
‘’Edo North is already in the kitty. We have our people working in Edo Central to make sure these people don’t win. And if you remove Ogbiede-Ihama from Edo South, what is left is lifeless.
‘’Even Labour Party will do better than PDP there. The defeat of PDP in Edo State will be overwhelming.”
