The manager of Sassuolo, Alessio Dionisi has lauded the proficiency of Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen, who is currently leading Napoli in search of a first league title in over three decades.

The Sassuolo Coach, whose team will face Napoli on matchday 23, described the Napoli hitman as an unstoppable force who is essential to the success of the Italian Serie A league leaders.

Osimhen will lead the centre-forward line of Luciano Spalletti-led team against Sassuolo at 20:45 on Friday at the Stadio Città del Tricolore. A win in the game will further extend their lead at the top of the league table.

This season, the 24-year-old Nigerian international has been in sensational form, scoring an astounding 17 goals in 18 league games.

Osimhen’s outstanding effort and amazing goal against Roma earned him the Serie A Goal of the Month title as well as the league’s Best Player of the Month award for January.

With his second goal against Cremonese on Sunday, the former Lille attacker joined Gonzalo Higuain as the only player to score for Napoli in six straight games.

Ahead of Sassuolo vs Napoli clash, coach Dionisi, 42, hailed the Nigerian player in his post-game press conference saying: “In Serie A, he’s a player who makes the difference.

“If you defend low in the area he’s almost unstoppable, for us he’s unstoppable. If you defend high, he attacks spaces, maybe he can grow in the straits.”

Sassuolo are at 15 on the log and will need to start gaining points if they want to stay up but achieving that against Osimhen-led team will be almost impossible.
