‘Take Your Anger To Polls’ – Peter Obi Charges Nigerians As Violence Erupts Across The Nation Over Naira Scarcity

The presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi has charged Nigerians to take their anger to the polls following the lingering Naira scarcity in the country.
Naija News understands that there were a lot of violent protests in Oyo, Edo and Delta state over the scarcity of the redesigned Naira on Wednesday.
Angry protesters burned down banks and other properties, leading to the lose of lives and properties.
Residents of those affected areas also live in fear and are restricted to stay in their houses for the time being to reduce the number of casualties.
Reacting to the development, the former Anambra Governor pleaded for calmness, noting that he understands the suffering and harsh economic realities the recent scarcity of cash have brought upon the people.
He further maintained that such anger should be taken to the polls for the sake of the country.
He tweeted: “There have been reported pockets of skirmishes in Benin City and other places arising from the recent scarcity of cash. I plead with Nigerians to be patient; help is coming. The suffering and harsh economic realities have brought untold anger on the people.
“May we, for the sake of our nation, take such anger to the polls on February 25. That is the only way to end the present suffering.”
