As the current Naira scarcity continues to cause outrage in the country, some hoodlums in the Epe area of Lagos State, have used the opportunity to unleash attacks on commercial banks.
According to PUNCH, the banks attacked include, Zenith, Access, UBA, and Keystone which has compelled them to temporarily suspend operations in the area.
Some parts of the banks were destroyed with broken glass seen in the area.
A source who lives in the Epe area said the attack was due to the inability of the residents to access cash from the affected banks.
Reacting, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the attacks on some banks in the area.
He added that security operatives were already on ground to handle the situation.
He said: “Three banks were attacked in Epe but our men are already on the ground.”
