Champions League: Madrid Clash With Liverpool Again, Osimhen On Duty
The UEFA Champions League round of 16 clash will resume tonight with one of the biggest rivalries in the competition – Liverpool Vs Real Madrid.
Real Madrid and Liverpool have met two times in the UEFA Champions League final in the last five years. Interestingly, the Spanish La Liga giants were victorious on the two occasions.
In the first instance, the 2017-2018 edition of the competition, Real Madrid not only beat Liverpool, but they also left the Reds’ talisman, Mo Salah badly injured.
While in the 2021-2022 Champions League final in Paris, the fans of Liverpool were teargassed outside the stadium and the Premier League side ended up losing the title to the Spanish side.
Hence, the round of 16 clash tonight at Anfield Stadium will be an emotionally charged encounter for not just the Reds’ players on the pitch, but for the fans of the club.
The game which will kick off at 21:00 (9 PM) tonight can make or mar the future of Jurgen Klopp at Anfield since his team has been struggling in the Premier League so far this season.
On the other hand, Nigerian forward, Victor Osimhen will lead his Italian team, Napoli to take on Eintracht Frankfurt in Germany later tonight.
The Nigeria international who is currently the highest goalscorer in the Italian Serie A is expected to reciprocate his league form in the Champions League starting tonight.
After Tuesday’s Champions League clash, all eyes will be on Wednesday’s fixtures which are RB Leipzig Vs Manchester City and Inter Milan Vs Porto. The two round of 16 games will kick off at 21:00 (9 PM).
