Labour Party‘s Obi Aguocha, the winner of the Kwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency, has dedicated his unexpected victory to God.

According to Aguocha, God and the populace’s desire to implement a new type of governance helped him to win Saturday’s election.

Aguocha defeated Abia State House of Assembly Speaker and PDP candidate, Rt. Hon. Chinedum Orji by more than 13,000 votes.

The LP house of representative candidate received 48,199 votes total, defeating Orji, who received 35,196 votes, according to Prof. Uma Kalu Oke, the returning officer, who announced the results on Monday.

Meanwhile, Obi Aguocha has accused the PDP candidate, Chinedum Orji, and his father, Theodore Orji, a former governor of Abia state of plotting to illegally overturn the outcome of the election.

Obi alleged, “I want to use this medium to warn the desperadoes (who would not accept their rejection in good fate) to discontinue as we are poised to repel such evil machination at any cost.

“We have had enough of the subjugation and humiliation of our people and the subversion of their wishes”.

He continued, “INEC is under obligation, as an unbiased umpire to uphold the people’s victory as expressed through the ballots and not instrumental to their despair.

“The voice of the people is the voice of God. My victory is not a stroke of serendipity. It is divine”.
