INEC Allegedly Awards N434 Million Contract To Adamawa APC Gov’ship Candidate, Binani’s Printing Firm To Print Results Sheets
A printing firm believed to be owned by the Adamawa State governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Aishatu Binani, was allegedly awarded a contract worth N434,372,649 to print election results sheets for the 2023 general elections.
Naija News understands that the printing press identified as Binani Printing Press was allegedly awarded the said contract by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The development as learnt was contained in the contract documents, which were signed by the INEC Secretary Rose Oriaran-Anthony and obtained by SaharaReporters on Wednesday.
According to the documents, Binani Printing Press was awarded N434,372,649 to print election results sheets for the forthcoming governorship polls.
Details obtained from the contract document sighted by SaharaReporters revealed that the printed results sheets were meant for seven states, which include Jigawa, Kaduna, Kebbi, Kaduna, Kano, Zamfara and Sokoto.
Meanwhile, Naija News gathered that the spokesperson for the Binani campaign organisation, Salihu Baba Ahmed confirmed the development in a reaction when contacted.
Ahmed submitted that the contract was awarded to her company which has many Nigerians working under it.
He said “If any contract was awarded, it is to her company, consisting of many Nigerians. And in any case, is she not eligible to be awarded contracts in this country? () ”
Also, efforts to reach Binani herself proved abortive as she was not picking up her calls as at the time of filing the report.
