BREAKING: 17 INEC Officials Kidnapped, Rescued In Imo
Police operatives in Imo State have rescued seventeen Ad-hoc staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Imo State.
The INEC officials who were posted to 19 wards at Ideato South Local Government Area of the state were kidnapped by unknown gunmen on their way to their various posts.
However, it was gathered that the police moved quickly to rescue them later.
Speaking with newsmen on Saturday, the State INEC spokesperson, Dr. Chineye Chijioke-Osuji, confirmed the rescue of the officials.
Chijioke-Osuji, however, said that the electoral officials were rescued without electoral materials and the Bimodla Voter Accreditation System (BVAS).
