Kwara: Buhari’s Chief Of Staff, Gambari, SDP Gov Candidate Vote

The Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari, has been accredited before casting his vote at PU 005, Akanbi Ward 4, Ilorin South during the Governorship and State House of Assembly elections.

In a related development, the SDP governorship candidate in Kwara State, Hakeem Lawal has cast his vote at unit 003, Magaji Aare Ward 1, Ilorin, Ilorin east LG.

Lawal is a son of a former governor of Kwara State, Mohammed Lawal, is hoping to defeat the state Governor, Abdulrahmad Abdulrazaq.

Abdulrahmad is contesting on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for second term in office.

Low Turnout In Kwara Despite Early Arrival Of Inec Officials

There is low turnout at some of the polling units where the Governorship and House of Assembly elections are ongoing in Kwara State despite the early arrival of INEC officials and materials.

At polling unit 010, Badi, Agbeyangi ward, Ilorin, only 2 voters had voted out of the 395 registered voters for the exercise.

Also at Polling unit 004, Oke-Ose, out of the over 800 registered voters, only 56 had voted when Daily Trust arrived around past 10:00am.

INEC presiding officer, Sulyman AbdulRazaq, said the number is picking up gradually.
