Anambra Governor, Soludo Speaks On Twitter Influencer’s Arrest
The Governor of Anambra State, Charles Soludo has confirmed the arrest of Twitter influencer, Chude Nnamdi, who was reportedly picked up by police operatives in Anambra State.
It was gathered that Chude left Anambra State CID at about 10am on Sunday, where he was detained since Saturday evening.
Chude is said to have left the Southeast on the Ibom Air (Q1 702) flight from Enugu, and was scheduled to land in Abuja at 11:20 am.
Confirming the situation, Soludo said Chude was arrested by the Cyber Crime Unit of Interpol on Saturday and transferred to Abuja today, Sunday, 19th March 2023.
The governor tweeted: “The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Police Command has confirmed to me, that one Mr Nnamdi Chude was arrested yesterday (18/03/23) in Anambra by the Cyber Crime Unit of Interpol and taken to Abuja today (19/03/23).
“The Anambra State Government has no information about the specific allegations or basis of his arrest.”
Recall, Chude had consistently shared updates on the security situation of the electoral exercise until the report of his arrest broke out.
The state police command as well as the Force Spokesperson, CSP Muyiwa Adejobi are yet to react to the situation as the duo were yet to respond to questions sent to them as of press time.
