Fintiri Leads In Adamawa Guber Election With 11 LGAs

Incumbent Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is leading in Saturday’s governorship election.

Naija News reports that Fintiri has won 11 LGAs out of the 18 announced so far by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

PDP won in Guyuk, Jada, Gombi, Shelleng, Ganye, Demsa, and Lamurde, among other LGAs the State, while the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Aishatu Dahiru Binani, won Mayo-Belwa, Maiha, and Mubi-North LGAs so far.

The state Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Hudu Yunusa-Ari, while fielding questions from journalists on Sunday, said results for three LGAs are still being expected, namely Song, Michika and Fufore LGAs.

He also revealed that a form has been issued to recompile the governorship election results for some areas in the Fufore Local Government Area (LGA) of the sate.

The REC said the action comes after a crisis that erupted in the LGA where miscreants carted away some results.

He, therefore, assured the public that the winner of the poll would be announced according to the electoral law without sentiment.
