Enugu Governor, Mbah Wins In NYSC Certificate Forgery Case

The final results from Enugu State for last Saturday’s governorship and state assembly elections have emerged.

Naija News gathered that  381,971 voters were accredited to vote during the election out of the total registered voters of 2,112,793 in the state as stated by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

However, out of the total registered voters, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Barrister Peter Mbah polled 160, 895 votes to emerge as the winner of the election, while Chijioke Edeoga of the Labour Party garnered 157, 552 votes.

Also, Frank Nweke of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) came third with 17, 983 votes.

The Returning Officer, Prof. Maduebibisi Iwe, announced Mbah as the governor-elect on Wednesday night after the results of the controversial Nkanu East Local Government Area results were collated.

Iwe, who is the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Agriculture, Umudike, said, “That Mbah of the PDP having scored the highest number of votes cast and having satisfied the requirements of the law is hereby declared the winner and he is returned elected.”
