DSS Under Fire Over Alarm On Plot For Interim Government
The Department of State Services (DSS) has come under fire over an alarm raised that some misguided politicians are plotting an Interim Government.
Recall that the DSS, in a statement on Wednesday, said it has identified individuals planning to stop the swearing-in of the President-elect, Bola Tinubu, and to force an Interim Government.
The agency said the plot to force an interim government is to set aside the constitution and undermine the civil rule in the country which would lead to an avoidable crisis.
It said the individuals are planning to sponsor mass violent protests and obtain frivolous court injunctions to forestall the May 29 inauguration of the new administration.
The DSS, however, vowed that it would work with all relevant organizations, individuals, and groups to ensure a seamless and successful inauguration as promised by President Muhammadu Buhari.
The secret police, therefore, warned those plotting to thwart democracy in Nigeria to retract from their devious schemes and orchestrations.
However, some Nigerians have taken to the micro-blogging platform, Twitter to berate the secret police for planning to arrest peaceful protesters who are against the declaration of Bola Tinubu as the President-elect.
Some netizens also slammed the DSS for issuing a statement to warn those plotting to force an interim government instead of gathering evidence and charging those persons involved to court.
See some of the reactions below.
A partisan DSS is a threat to our democracy.

The DSS is now tweeting like Gistloversblog. đź¤
As it stands we will rather have an interim Government than a drug trafficker as president.
This is the same DSS the likes of Festus Keyamo is sending Petitions to.
There is no institution in Nigeria APC has not reduced to a joke.— NKEM #PeterObi2023 (@Nkemchor_) March 29, 2023
The DSS @OfficialDSSNG is an alarmist and a disgraceful organization not worthy of any more respect. Where were they when some people were freely promoting hate and bigotry, promoting xenophobia, threatening people during and after the elections and did nothing? Come and learn…

Ever since Baba-Ahmed warned Nigerians against electing a candidate who didn’t meet the constitutional requirements to be the president (Tinubu), DSS has been running helter skelter. Guilty conscience won’t let them rest. They cooked up a fable that there’s a plot to install an…

Dayo Israel has DSS and other security agencies he uses and yet he was robbed last night, many APC supporters and members who don’t have access to any of those will never speak the truth about insecurity but always defend the government, the robbers didn’t ask him which party he…

There is no plot anywhere. DSS wants to arrest a high-profile politician, so they’re setting the stage ahead of time to distract people.

I am confused. Is DSS now instablog or are you a security agency? Why can’t you compile the evidence, approach a court, and get a warrant to interrogate then prosecute them?
And if the “plot” was casual conversation that doesn’t amount to a crime, why are you disturbing us? https://t.co/INRkJ1CYR0

The @OfficialDSSNG mocks the Nigerian judiciary. Alleges that planners of interim government intends to use them to truncate democracy by making them issue frivolous injunctions. Hmmm!! So Nigerian courts are now notorious injunction issuers? DSS should go further and expose them pic.twitter.com/8tdFpsthW4

APC’s DSS has stated there is a plot by the government in power APC to install an interim APC government by the ruling APC party.
The president is APC, the illegal and incoming government is APC, DSS is APC, police is APC.
Please make it make sense.

Only the President or Military can make an interim government happen not the opposition.
DSS are being funny.

“Frivolous Court Injunction”
I think the DSS have forgotten that the Judiciary is an arm of govt.
But of course, the judiciary have not respected themselves hence those remarks from the secret police.

DSS tweeted that there’s a plot by political actors to install an interim government. Coming on social media to tell us all their findings. Why not collate your evidences and charge these persons to court? (https://www.marcieinmommyland.com/) A whole DSS giving us Gistlover vibes. Please guys you’re disturbing us 📌
