IGP Alkali Baba Meets PSC’s Arase, Reveals Plans
The Inspector-General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, on Monday met with the Chairperson of the Police Service Commission (PSC), Solomon Arase.
President Muhammadu Buhari on the 29th of March, 2023, Wednesday, swore in the former Inspector General of Police (IGP) as the new Chairman of PSC
Arase was inaugurated for the new position just two months after the Senate confirmed him as chairperson of the PSC.
The IGP and Arase on Monday met at the PSC conference room in Abuja where they discussed measures to improve mutual relationships between the commission and the Nigeria Police Force (NPF)
They also identify new pathways for stronger partnerships between the PSC and the NPF.
Baba, while addressing newsmen after the meeting, noted that his visit will improve the relationship between the police and PSC as well as enhance the security situation of the country.
The IGP also congratulated Arase on his appointment as the new Chairman of PSC.
He said, “I am at the Police Service Commission to congratulate the assumption of office of the new chairman, retired IGP Solomon Arase.
“When there is proper leadership, guidance, sense of direction, discipline, promotion, appointment, people will be motivated to do the right thing.”
