How Tinubu's Victory Will Affect Nigeria - Al-Makura Reveals

Former Governor of Nasarawa State, Tanko Umar Al-Makura has said the victory of Bola Tinubu during the February 25 presidential election would bring national cohesion and unity.

The Senator representing Nasarawa South in the National Assembly made this known at a Ramadan lecture and special prayer for Nigeria organized by the Asiwaju Project Beyond 2023 in Abuja, the state capital.

Al-Makura, who lost his bid to return to the Senate, called on all Nigerians to pray for the President-elect and the Vice-president-elect, Kashim Shettima, to succeed and fulfill their promises to Nigerians.

The governor added that from the beginning of the campaign till the end of the 2023 poll, peace has been restored to the nation and the hope of Nigerians has been renewed.

He said: “I call on all Nigerians regardless of their faiths to support the Tinubu and Shetima government in prayers to successfully pilot the affairs of this nation and offer Nigerians the dividends of democracy promised to them during the campaign.

“From the beginning of the campaign to the election period and now, peace has been restored to the nation and our hope has been renewed.

“The election itself was a new hope and indication of national cohesion and unity because the majority of the votes of Northerners went to Tinubu; this is a sign of togetherness.

“We thank God for the government of President Muhammadu Buhari and we should continue to pray for its successful transition programme to the incoming leadership.

“We should ask Almighty Allah (SWT) to guide and offer wisdom to Tinubu and Shetima to successfully direct the affairs of the nation.

In his remarks, the Director-General of the project, Realwan Okpanachi, said the event was aimed at recognising “the divine power of God in the political affairs of men”.
