How To Know A Fake Admission – JAMB Reveals
The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has revealed how students can identify an authentic admission from the body.
According to the examination body, any admission not captured in its Central Admission Processing System (CAPS) is illegal, null, and void.
Naija News reports that the Registrar of JAMB, Prof Ishaq Oloyede, made this disclosure while speaking during the 3rd matriculation ceremony of the Thomas Adewumi University (TAU) Oko, Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State.
The JAMB boss explained any admission done outside of the CAP, regardless of the institution, is fake.
Oloyede, who was represented by an Assistant Director of JAMB, Mr. Ganiyu Yahaya, stated that “For any admission into tertiary institutions, it has to be done through CAPS, which is on the JAMB portal.
“Any admission outside the CAPS, irrespective of the institution, is illegal. And I think this point is very important.”
This platform reports that this clarification follows a recent controversy between the examination body and one Mmesoma Ejikeme.
Naija News gathered that Mmesoma made news headlines after she posted a controversial JAMB UTME result on the internet. The 19-year-old had paraded a result slip showing a score of 362 before the exam body countered her claims stating that her original score 249.
The development attracted reactions from different quarters, and the Anambra State government, for this reason, set up a Committee of Inquiry to look into the case of inflation of UTME results levied against Mmesoma.
JAMB had come under fire for declaring the student’s result fake and naming her a fraud.
However, Mmesoma eventually confessed to having forged her results unaided.
