‘Buharists Are Now Orphans’ – Shehu Sani Reacts To APC ‘Crisis’
Former Kaduna Central lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani has reacted to the recent developments in the All Progressives Congress (APC) leading to the emergence of a new National Chairman of the party on Monday.
According to Sani, the developments are a pointer to the purging going on in the party of loyalists of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
Naija News earlier reported that the National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has confirmed the resignation of Senator Abdullahi Adamu as the party’s National Chairman.
The NWC also confirmed the resignation of Senator Iyiola Omisore as the party’s National Secretary.
The confirmations were given by the acting National Chairman of the party, Senator Abubakar Kyari on Monday during a press briefing after the party’s NWC meeting.
Kyari who takes over as the acting chairman of the APC also confirmed that the Deputy National Secretary, Barrister Festus Fuanter takes over as acting National Secretary.
Similarly, the National Working Committee (NWC) of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has suspended the National Caucus and National Executive Committee (NEC) meetings indefinitely.
This development comes on the heels of the resignation of the party’s national chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu.
Originally slated for July 10 and 11, these key meetings were initially postponed to the following Tuesday and Wednesday.
However, they have now been delayed with no rescheduled date as of yet.
Reacting to the developments, Sani took to his Twitter account where he wrote: “The Buharists are now orphans; they are purged in their party.”
