President Tinubu Sends Ministerial List To National Assembly
President Bola Tinubu has reportedly sent his list of ministerial nominees to the National Assembly for screening and confirmation.
Naija News understands the lawmakers are set to officially receive the list of ministerial nominees tomorrow 19th of July 2023.
This was contained in a letter received by the National Assembly clerk, Magaji Tambuwal according to sources who spoke to our correspondent.
By the provision of law, President Tinubu is expected to forward the list of ministerial nominees to the National Assembly not later than 60 days from the date he takes the oath of office.
Recall that the incumbent administration was inaugurated on May 29, when former President Muhammadu Buhari handed over the mantle of leadership to Tinubu.
Going by the constitutional provision of 60 days, Tinubu has less than ten days to constitute his cabinet.
The list will be read out by the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, during Wednesday’s plenary.
According to insider sources at the Presidency, the ministerial list had been ready for some time but President Tinubu took his time to go over the list and make necessary adjustments to ensure its acceptability and effectiveness.
