Fani-Kayode Drops Epistle About President Tinubu Amid Cries Over New Petrol Price

Former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, has taken to social media to hail President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing him as a caring and bold leader to have assumed the highest seat of power in the country.

In a long epistle via his verified Twitter handle, Fani-Kayode asserted that Tinubu is a no-nonsense leader who, under his watch, will not tolerate the international community that looks down on Nigeria.

According to him, the Nigerian leader has brought honour, strength, self-respect, dignity, fortitude, resilience, and faith in God and has as well created an enabling atmosphere where Nigerians can be proud of who they really are.

Fani-Kayode’s epistle reads: “There is nothing more beautiful, powerful and inspiring than a confident, strong, educated, courageous and enlightened Nigerian who knows and appreciates the rich and noble history of his people and the great heritage that they derive from.

“Under this new dispensation, we have a leadership that will brook no nonsense from those in the international community that look down on Nigerians and that treat our people like filth and with contempt.

“No matter where you are in the world, as long as you are a Nigerian, you will know that you have a strong and confident Government and a caring and bold President who will do all he can to protect you and fight for you and your interest when faced with injustice or discrimination.

“That, in my view, is one of the most important things that President Tinubu brings to the table. It includes honour, strength, self-respect, dignity, fortitude, resilience, faith in God and in ourselves and an appreciation of who we really are and the wonderful innovations and contributions that we have to offer the world.

“Tinubu represents the new African leader that will not genuflect, shake, tremble and quiver before those leaders and nations that believe that they are superior to ours and those that share the erroneous and obnoxious view that Nigerians particularly and Africans generally, are unlettered barbarians that are inferior to them.”

Naija News reports that Fani-Kayode’s writing is coming at a time when Nigerians are groaning over the increased hardship following the new pump price of petrol in the country.

President Tinubu’s government has been receiving a series of backlash since the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited (NNPCL) announced a new price for the Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), better known as fuel or petrol.

In a subsequent statement, NNPCL Group Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Mele Kyari, attributed the recent rise in petrol pump price from N540 to N617 per litre to market forces.

Kyari offered this explanation on Tuesday to State House correspondents shortly after meeting with Vice President Kashim Shettima at the Aso Villa, this news platform reports.
