'Osimhen Will Not Renew With Napoli, Set To Leave Club As Soon As Poossible'

Saudi Pro League club, Al-Hilal, reportedly made an offer to Italian Serie A reigning champions, Napoli worth €130 million for the services of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen.

Interestingly, Napoli who are also trying to keep the 24-year-old Nigeria international at the club beyond this summer and also expecting nothing less than €200 million for the striker rejected the offer.

Reports claimed that the Saudi Pro League club which is backed by the multi-billion-dollar royal wealth fund PIF, tried to convince Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis to sell Osimhen to them when they could not buy Paris Saint Germain’s striker Kylian Mbappe.

Due to his key role in Napoli’s incredible Scudetto-winning season last term, Osimhen has attracted considerable interest from a variety of parties. Recall that Osimhen’s 26 goals and five assists in 32 games helped the Italian Side win the Serie A title for the first time in more than three decades in the 2022-2023 season.

Thanks to his remarkable performance, he became the first African player in Serie A history to earn the coveted Golden Boot title and best striker of the Season award.

According to a report by an Italian publication, Il Mattino via TMW, Al-Hilal made De Laurentiis an offer of €130 million for the services of Osimhen. The offer was swiftly turned down by Napoli, a sign of their reluctance to part with the Nigeria international during this summer’s transfer window.

Napoli is instead focusing on signing Osimhen to a new, long-term contract to secure his future with the team. The player is worth over €200 million, according to the club’s estimation.

The Saudi Pro League had a significant influx of European players this summer. It is believed that Cristiano Ronaldo’s move to Al Nassr in December 2022, motivated most of the elite players to join the league.
