Guardiola Gives Updates On Josko Gvardiol’s Move To Man City
Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola has confirmed that the reigning Premier League Champions are on the verge of completing Josko Gvardiol’s transfer.
Manchester City have already paid the sum of £77 million to RB Leipzig for the services of the 22-year-old Croatia international. The player has already agreed on personal terms with Manchester City and he is already in England for this medical examination.
Coach Guardiola who is preparing his team for the Community Shield game against Arsenal on Sunday, August 6, said City are expected to finalize Gvardiol’s deal in a matter of hours.
Pep Guardiola said, “He is here. He is doing medical tests and hopefully, we can finish the deal in the next hours.”
Meanwhile, during the pre-match press conference for the Community Shield game against Arsenal, Guardiola was also dragged into discussing the future of Kyle Walker and Bernardo Silva.
Walker, an English defender who is 33 years old, has drawn interest from Bayern Munich, while Silva, a Portuguese winger who is 28 years old, has drawn significant interest from Barcelona and a Saudi Arabian club.
Pep Guardiola said, “We will do everything to keep them. It is not like [Ilkay] Gundogan as they have contracts.
“We want them to stay because they want to stay. Losing Kyle and Bernardo would be so difficult.”
