Victor Osimhen wins the Emerging Player of the Year award.

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has told the club’s Ultras that he won’t sell Nigerian prolific striker Victor Osimhen even for €200 million this summer.

Since the 24-year-old Nigerian striker scored 26 goals and provided 5 assists in 32 Italian Serie A goals which helped the club to win the Scudetto for the first time in 33 years last season, Osimhen has been one of the most sought-after strikers in the world.

Before now, Bayern Munich, Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea, Paris Saint Germain, and even clubs from the Saudi Pro League have shown interest in the Nigeria international.

Despite the interest in Osimhen across Europe, the Napoli president refused to sell the Nigerian star as he continues to negotiate with the player’s representatives for a contract extension.

Initially, reports claimed that Aurelio De Laurentiis is willing to sell Victor Osimhen to any club that is willing to pay €160 to €200 million for the prolific striker. He even disclosed that only PSG who are still having a contract tussle with their talisman Kylian Mbappe have the financial capacity to afford Osimhen this summer.

However, in a meeting with the notorious Napoli supporters group, Napoli Ultras, on Wednesday, August 9, De Laurentiis made it clear that Osimhen won’t leave the Italian Serie A champions this summer.

Calcio Napoli quoted De Laurentiis as saying, “I’m not selling Osimhen even for €200 million. And he is not leaving.”

Meanwhile, Osimhen’s right ankle strain prevented him from continuing his Tuesday workout with his teammates.

Naija News has reported that the Nigeria international sustained an ankle injury when he collided with Napoli’s new signing Natan de Souza during training on Tuesday.

Due to the injury, Victor Osimhen who still has until June 30, 2025, before his current contract with Napoli expires will miss the club’s last pre-season friendly game against Greek club Apollon on Friday, August 11.
