Lagos State Assembly Disqualifies 17 Sanwo-Olu Commissioner Nominees
The Lagos State House of Assembly on Wednesday disqualified 17 of the commissioner nominees out of the 39 sent to it for screening by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Naija News gathered 22 Commissioner Nominees were however confirmed by the lawmakers.
This follows the presentation before the House by Hon. Mojeed Fatai of the report of the 12-man ad hoc committee on the screening of the Governor’s commissioner nominees.
Speaking after the decision of the lawmakers, the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa thanked the committee members and added that they will as legislators continue to diligently perform their oversight functions in the state.
“I thank the committee for the thorough screening of nominees and the report rendered. It is now a clarion call for the confirmed nominees to honour the state.
“We will continue to do our job and oversight the affairs of Lagos State,” he said.

Muslim Leaders Protest Sanwo-Olu’s List Of Nominees
Leaders of the Muslim Community in Lagos State last Wednesday stormed the State House of Assembly over the alleged one-sided list of nominees by the Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Naija News gathered that the Muslim leaders who staged a protest at the State House of Assembly had aired their grievances about what they described as official discrimination of Muslims in the state.
Their reaction follows the nomination of eight Muslims and 31 Christians by the governor into his cabinet.
