After playing regularly for Chelsea in the last pre-season, Andrey Santos has decided to leave the club in search of regular game time.

The 19-year-old Brazilian midfielder was not given any minute in Chelsea’s 1-1 draw with Liverpool and the club’s embarrassing 3-1 defeat at the hands of West Ham United last weekend.

Hence, Andrey Santos will continue his push for relevance in European football on loan at Nottingham Forest this season. He will remain at Forest for just a season which means he is expected back at Stamford Bridge next summer.

After completing his one-season loan move to Nottingham Forest, Santos said, “I am very happy and excited to be here. I know Forest is a big club.

“They have good players and play good football, which is important to me. It has always been my dream to play in the Premier League and I can’t wait to enjoy playing.”

Andrey Santos who has made one international appearance for Brazil’s senior team moved from Vasco da Gama to Chelsea in January 2022 before he was loaned back to the Brazilian club in March.

While at the Brazilian side, he scored eight goals in 33 appearances which helped Vasco to gain promotion to Brazil’s top league in 2022.

He scored six goals as he helped Brazil to win the South American Under-20 Championship in February 2023.

Andrey Santos made his senior team debut against Morocco in March after getting his first call-up to the national team. However, he has not played for Chelsea in any competitive games except in pre-season friendlies.
