Magic Will Happen To Palliatives If You Focus On Judiciary Alone – Shehu Sani Warns Nigerians
Former Kaduna Central lawmaker, Shehu Sani has urged Nigerians to monitor the distribution of palliatives in their various states.
Naija News recalls that the Federal Government had approved N5 billion for each state and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to enable them procure food items for distribution to the poor in their respective states.
In addition to the fund, the government also released five trucks of rice each to the 36 state governors.
However, President Bola Tinubu said that he would not be giving orders to the state government on how to distribute the palliatives.
The president asked Nigerians to hold the state governors and local government chairmen responsible if the palliatives were distributed unfairly.
“The people reside in the States. Even if I set up a panel, I will have to go through the governors and the local governments. We will continue to talk to the governors. Nigerians must hold them accountable,” he continued.
Speaking on the palliatives distribution on Tuesday, Sani warned Nigerians against focusing on the Presidential Tribunal alone, asking them to also monitor the distribution of the palliatives or the funds would be siphoned.
He said, “Put one eye on the Judiciary and one eye on the palliative distribution please. If you put all eyes in one place, magic may happen in the other place before you are back.”
