Italian Serie A champions, Napoli have reportedly inserted an “anti-Juventus” clause in the new deal they are offering Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen.

The clause is to prevent Osimhen from joining Juventus from Napoli in continuation of their age-long rivalry.

The representatives of Victor Osimhen and Napoli have been in negotiations for a contract extension since last season ended.

Amidst Napoli’s push to renew Osimhen’s contract, a series of top European clubs have shown interest in the 24-year-old striker due to his prolific form last season.

Recall that last season, the Nigeria international helped Napoli to win the Scudetto for the first time in 33 years after scoring 26 league goals and providing 5 assists in 32 league games.

Clubs like Bayern Munich, Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Paris Saint Germain have all shown interest in Victor Osimhen but they were frustrated out of the deal due to the over €150 million price tag slammed on the Nigerian.

Even a Saudi Pro League club, Al-Hilal, attempted to lure Osimhen to the Middle East with a €1 million per week deal but Napoli prevented the reported offer from seeing the light of day.

Hence, Napoli are moving closer to extending Osimhen’s contract even though his current deal will expire on June 30, 2025.

While negotiations on the contract extension continue, Napoli are working very hard to ensure that Osimhen and any other players at the club don’t ever join their rival Juventus.

In the past, Napoli have witnessed their star players like Gonzalo Higuain and Arkadiusz Milik leave them for Juventus, an event they are trying to prevent with the “anti-Juventus” clause in Osimhen’s proposed contract extension.

According to a report from Tuttomercatoweb, the “anti-Juventus” clause would highlight Napoli’s dedication to keeping hold of their greatest asset.

Meanwhile, Aurelio De Laurentiis, the president of Napoli, is reportedly considering including two more release clauses in Osimhen’s contract to hang onto Victor Osimhen.

One condition would only apply to Saudi Arabian clubs, while the other would apply to PSG and other top European teams.

Also, Osimhen’s agent is seeking a release clause of €110 million, while Napoli is arguing for a greater sum of at least €150 million. This is believed to be one of the reasons the Nigerian star has not extended his deal with the Italian champions.
