Nottingham Forest Sign Hudson-Odoi, Dominguez, And Nuno Tavares
Nottingham Forest have completed three signings in the 2023 summer transfer window deadline day, September 1.
They signed Callum Hudson-Odoi of Chelsea (permanent deal), Nicolas Dominguez of Bologna (permanent), and Nuno Tavares of Arsenal (on loan) as they prepare for a better 2023-2024 Premier League campaign.
The 22-year-old Hudson-Odoi, who has three England caps, joins Forest on a three-year deal for less than £5 million after making 156 appearances for Chelsea.
Earlier in the season, it was looking like Fulham were close to sealing Hudson-Odoi’s deal but the Englishman who spent last season on loan at Bayer Leverkusen decided to move to Forest.
“It’s massive for me to be here and I can’t wait to get started. It’s a new chapter for me,” he said.
Although Hudson-Odoi spent 16 years playing for Chelsea, his stint there never quite lived up to his early promise, hence, his exit from the club.
Meanwhile, Dominguez, 25, an Argentine midfielder, had signed a five-year contract with Nottingham Forest. While Remo Freuler, a Swiss midfielder for Forest, moved the other way to Bologna.
As for Tavares, a 23-year-old Portuguese player who joined Arsenal from Benfica for £8 million, will now represent Nottingham Forest for the rest of the season.
While on loan with Marseille last season, he played 31 Ligue 1 games and netted six goals as the French giants finished third on the league table.
“Forest is a historic club which won two European Cups and to be part of it makes me really happy,” said Tavares.
“I’m really happy to stay in the Premier League as it’s the best league in the world and I’m thankful to Forest for giving me that opportunity.”
The new trio take Forest’s summer signings up to nine, following the arrivals of Anthony Elanga, Matt Turner, Ola Aina, Andrey Santos, Gonzalo Montiel, and Murillo.
