The manager of Premier League club, Fulham, Marco Silva, could not help but praise his new signee, Alex Iwobi after helping the team scale through to the fourth round of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday.

During the Carabao Cup third round match against Norwich City, Alex Iwobi did not only score but also provided an assist, to help Fulham qualify for the next round of the competition with a 2-1 win.

The Nigerian midfielder completed an outstanding team play after Carlos Vinicius opened the scoring at Craven Cottage in the first half.

This was Iwobi’s first goal for Fulham since moving there in last summer transfer window from Everton, where he had previously been named Players’ Player of the Season.

Silva, who lured Iwobi away from Arsenal to join Everton back in 2019, has lauded the midfielder’s ability to succeed at Fulham.

“He’s a player that I know can add for us in many different positions,” London News Online quoted Marco Silva as saying.

“I know him really well; I was responsible for signing him at Everton. His quality and his energy are going to be important for us.”

On Monday, October 2, Fulham will be banking on the experience and form of Alex Iwobi when Chelsea visit the Craven Cottage for their Premier League matchday 7 encounter. The game will kick off at 8 p.m.

The Nigeria international contributed to 40 goals in 149 games while playing for Arsenal, but in 140 games in all competitions while at Everton, he only managed nine goals and 16 assists.
