Bukayo Saka To Remain Sidelined Until After International Break
Nigerian-born British footballer, Bukayo Saka, won’t be available for the Three Lions of England in the October international break, according to Arsenal’s coach, Mikel Arteta.
Recall that in Arsenal’s 1-0 win over Manchester City on Sunday, October 8, Bukayo Saka was not included in the Gunners’ roster due to fitness issues.
He has been battling with a hamstring injury since Arsenal beat Bournemouth 4-0 on September 30, 2023. But coach Arteta decided to use him in the UEFA Champions League game against Lens, a decision that is believed to be the reason why the injury became more serious.
He was substituted in the first half of the game due to the injury as Arsenal went on to lose the game 2-1 at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis in France.
Before he missed the Manchester City game, Bukayo Saka played in 87 consecutive Premier League games despite being just 22 years old
After their slim win over Manchester City, Arteta confirmed that Saka won’t be able to play for a while and he won’t be available for England when the country takes on Australia in an international friendly on October 13, and Euro qualifiers against Italy on October 17.
“No, he will not make it. He has not trained for a single session”, the Spanish tactician said.
He added: “He is not available to play football at the moment.”
