'Osimhen Will Not Renew With Napoli, Set To Leave Club As Soon As Poossible'

Napoli are already planning life without Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen as they are reportedly planning on bringing in Arsenal’s striker, Gabriel Jesus.

Victor Osimhen has recently issued a statement to reaffirm his commitment to Napoli even though the club recently shared two videos on their TikTok page to mock him for missing a penalty.

The Italian Serie A reigning champions have also said a couple of times that they aim to extend Osimhen’s current contract which will expire on June 30, 2025.

Amid all that, there are strong speculations in Italy that the 24-year-old Nigerian striker is considering leaving Napoli as early as January.

His exit from the club is looking likely as reports claimed that it is currently extremely improbable that he will agree to a new contract with Napoli, despite earlier conversations regarding one.

According to Calcio Mercato, Napoli has started putting up backup plans in case Victor Osimhen decides to leave the team in January or after the current season.

Alvaro Morata of Atletico Madrid, Jonathan David of Lille, and Jesus have all reportedly been mentioned as prospective targets.

Jesus has been constrained by injuries since joining the Gunners from Premier League rival Manchester City in the summer of 2022.

Despite having injury issues, the Brazilian has played 41 times in competitive matches for Mikel Arteta’s club, scoring 14 goals and providing eight assists.

Former Juventus player Morata has had a productive start to the season with Atletico, scoring seven goals in eight games.

As opposed to this, David has four goals in 11 games this season and is a target for Lille, Napoli, and AC Milan.
