Sunday Igboho’s Latest Location Revealed After Release
Yoruba nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, on Sunday announced his freedom from protective custody in Benin Republic.
Naija News had earlier reported that Igboho in a statement titled: “My Release in Benin Republic”, said he is now free to return to Nigeria.
He further stated that he could visit any country in the world because he had fulfilled all the legal conditions attached to his bail a few years back.
Igboho, however, did not reveal when he would be returning to Nigeria.
The counsel to the Yoruba Nation agitator, Yomi Aliu on Monday confirmed to TheCable that his client has regained his freedom after almost two years in Cotonou, Benin Republic.
Aliu when asked about the whereabouts of Igboho revealed that he is now in Germany.
The lawyer said, “Yes, he has been released. He was released yesterday. He is now in Germany.”
Aliu when asked about the state of Igboho’s release from protective custody said, “I can’t speak about it.”
Recall that Igboho was arrested on July 20, 2021, while trying to travel to Germany at Cardinal Bernardin International Airport, Cotonou, Benin Republic, three weeks after he was declared wanted by the Department of State Services (DSS).
He was later granted bail and has since remained in Cotonou.
