Impeachment: Security Beefed Up As Youths Storm Rivers Govt House In Solidarity For Fubara (Photos)
Some youths in Rivers State have stormed the Government House in Port Harcourt, in solidarity with the Governor, Simi Fubara, who is facing impeachment.
Naija News reports that Rivers caught the spotlight on Sunday night when the State House of Assembly was set ablaze by unknown persons amidst impeachment plot against Fubara.
Photos that emerged show that security has been beefed up at the Rivers Assembly complex, with many youths seen at the venue.
The assembly has suspended the Majority Leader of the House, Hon. Edison Ehie, and four other lawmakers, who are said to be strong allies of the governor.

Fubara Reacts To Removal Of Rivers Assembly Leader, Impeachment Process
Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has described the removal of the majority leader of the state House of Assembly, Hon. Edison Ehie., and four other lawmakers as null and void.
The governor stated while addressing his supporters on Monday morning during his visit to the Assembly Complex in Port Harcourt, the state capital.
According to Fubara, the removal of the five lawmakers will not stand, adding that security operatives fired gunshots directly at him when he went to inspect the State House of Assembly Complex that was gutted by fire last night.
He added that the security operatives allowed arsonists to attack the assembly complex last night, acsuing them of compromise.
The governor, who said he had committed no offence to warrant impeachment, asked the lawmakers planning to remove him to come out openly.
