Two Feared Killed As Police Clash With Protesters In Nasarawa Over Supreme Court Ruling

Police operatives, on Monday, fired gunshots and tear gas on the premises of the Rivers State House of Assembly Complex as lawmakers commenced the process of impeachment of Governor Siminalayi Fubara.

It was learned that the security personnel used tear gas and water cannons to disperse some protesters after the governor stormed the complex to prevent his impeachment.

Naija News earlier reported that the House Leader of the Assembly, Hon Edison Ehie, had been removed from his position amid the crisis in the Assembly.

It was gathered that Ehie was accused of supervising the burning of the Assembly Complex on Sunday night to stop the impeachment of the governor.

Meanwhile, the Speaker of the House of Assembly has served an impeachment notice on Governor Fubara.
