Ogun Plans State Burial For Late Iyalode Of Yorubaland, Alaba Lawson

There are strong indications that the Ogun State government wants to hold a state burial for the late Iyalode of Yorubaland, Chief (Mrs) Alaba Lawson.
Naija News understands that Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, on Sunday disclosed plans by the state government to set up a committee that will work out a befitting burial for the late businesswoman and philanthropist.
It would be recalled that Lawson died on Saturday at the age of 72 after a brief illness.
During a condolence visit to her family, the Ogun State governor said she was a passionate and selfless woman, who championed the rights of women.
The governor said, “We will be with you throughout this very trying period. We are setting up a committee of the state to interface with the family so that we can begin to plan the final rights to give Mama a very befitting passing.
“Your mother was many things to many people. She was a very hard-working woman, a very principled woman; she would call a spade a spade; she would say it as it is. Whatever she wouldn’t say in your presence of you, she would not say it behind you.”
In response, the late Lawson’s son, Akinola Lawson, on behalf of the family, appreciated the governor for his support even when she was alive.
