PDP Reacts As Former Senator, Utazi Dumps Party

The Zonal Chairman of the People Democratic Party (PDP) in Enugu North Senatorial District of Enugu State, Mike Onyeze, has reacted to the resignation of former Enugu-North Senator, Chukwuka Utazi from the party.
Naija News reported that the former lawmaker announced his decision in a resignation letter on Sunday addressed to the PDP Chairman in Nkpologu Ward of the Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area of Enugu State, Chief Robert Ezeagu.
According to Utazi, his decision to quit the PDP is because the party no longer has the ideals that attracted him initially. He added that he needs to find a new party that aligns with his aspirations.
He, however, did not disclose the new party he would be pitching his tent with.
Reacting to the development, the Zonal Chairman, in an interview with journalists on Monday in Nsukka, said the party will reach out to Senator Utazi to return to the party.
He said Utazi might have some grievances against the party like every other organisation and family, which is often resolved amicably.
He said, “Utazi may have grievances for deciding to leave the party he belonged to since 1998.
“The party will reach out to him, to see if the grievances will be resolved so that he will withdraw the resignation letter.
“In every organisation, even among family members, there are always misunderstandings at one time or the other, but after discussion, most misunderstandings are resolved amicably.”
