Grey’s Anatomy Star, Patrick Dempsey Crowned 2023’s Sexiest Man Alive

Renowned Hollywood actor, Patrick Dempsey, has been crowned this year’s Sexiest Man Alive by People Magazine.

Known for his iconic portrayal of Doctor Derek “McDreamy” Shepherd in the highly acclaimed TV series “Grey’s Anatomy,” Dempsey has secured the coveted title.

He has also graced the screen in timeless Hollywood classics such as ‘Enchanted’ and ‘Made of Honour.’

The 57-year-old movie star expressed his astonishment upon hearing the announcement, which was revealed on the “Jimmy Kimmel Live” show on Tuesday evening.

“When I heard the news, I was utterly taken aback, and I burst into laughter, thinking, ‘Is this a joke?’ I’ve always been in the background!” he remarked.

He said, “I had completely forgotten about it and never even considered being in this position. So, my ego remains intact.”

Dempsey has enjoyed a 24-year-long marriage with Jillian Fink, a professional makeup artist and beauty mogul, and the couple has three children: 16-year-old twins Sullivan and Darby, and 21-year-old Talula.

In his interview with People, the philanthropic actor expressed his appreciation for the title, emphasizing the positive impact it allows him to make. Dempsey is the founder of the Dempsey Center, an organization dedicated to supporting cancer patients, which he established in honour of his mother.

“I’m pleased that this is happening at this stage in my life. It’s wonderful to receive this recognition, and while it gives my ego a little boost, it also provides me with a platform to make a positive difference,” he stated.

Previously, Dempsey was twice named the second Sexiest Man Alive, in 2005 and 2006. Finally topping the list this year, he joins the esteemed ranks of other heartthrobs like Marvel star Chris Evans, the immediate previous titleholder, Paul Rudd, Michael B. Jordan, and many others.
