Ajaka Speaks On Withdrawing From Kogi Governorship Race
The Social Democratic Party (SDP) governorship candidate in the November 11 Kogi State election, Muritala Ajaka, has denied withdrawing from the race.
The Director of New Media of the Muritala Ajaka Campaign Organization, David Ijele, made this known in a statement issued in Lokoja, the state capital, on Thursday.
Ijele described such reports as fake and urged the public to ignore such reports, saying that Ajaka is still in contention to become the next Governor of Kogi State.
He stated that the fake news and propaganda are the handwork of miscreants, sinking ships and a group of deluded people, stressing that Ajaka is the candidate of the people who would not step down for anyone at this crucial time.
He said, “The fake news of Alhaji Murtala Yakubu Ajaka, the candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) stepping down, withdrawing from the race or merging his structure with another party is false and baseless, this fake news and propaganda is the handwork of the miscreants, sinking ships and a group of people that repeatedly lied to themselves to feel comfortable against reality.
“We are calling on the general public, especially our supporters to disregard the fake letter of withdrawal or stepping down making rounds on the internet. The letter is not signed by Isaiah Davies Ijele and Ocheja Unekwu. This fake letter is the last resolve of the outgoing government and their allies.”
