Kogi: AA Governorship Candidate Speaks On Stepping Down For Dino Melaye Few Hours To Election
The governorship candidate of the Action Alliance (AA) for Saturday’s governorship election in Kogi State, Olayinka Braimoh has denied stepping down for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) flagbearer, Dino Melaye.
Braimoh in a statement on Thursday said reports about him withdrawing from the race are nothing but lies.
According to the AA candidate, he remains in the governorship race and he is in it to win.
Speaking through his media aide, Musa Olumayowa Yakubu, Braimoh added that the report about stepping down should be disregarded by the good people of Kogi State.
He further denied collapsing his structure for Melaye or any other candidate, saying the people of Kogi deserve a paradigm shift.
According to him, he didn’t campaign throughout the local governments in the state only to withdraw at the last minute. He added that those spreading rumours about his withdrawal are opponents sacred about the people’s acceptance of his candidacy.
In his words, “The false claims are clear signs that oppositions are jittery of his rising acceptance across the state with the record defections from major parties and their endorsements.
“I confidently reassure all residents that I have not and will not step down for anyone as I am poised to win at the poll.”
