Sylva Wins Another Local Govt As Collation Resumes In Bayelsa

The collation of results in the Bayelsa governorship election held on Saturday, November 11, 2023, has resumed.

Recall that Governor Duoye Diri of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who is leading in the election, has won five Local Government Areas (LGAs) as announced by the State Collation Commissioner, Professor Kuta Farouk.

Following the resumption of collation on Monday afternoon, Farouk disclosed that the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Timipre Sylva, has won an additional local government area.

He announced that Sylva is the winner of Brass local government, where he hails from. Farouk added that the result of Southern Ijaw LGA is expected before the election is concluded.
