Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) club, Kano Pillars, have appointed former Sporting Lagos manager, Paul Offor as their new head coach.

Kano Pillars, who have won the NPFL four times and finished second once, struggled in the 2023-2024 season despite using two different coaches during the season.

They managed to finish the campaign in the 11th spot following 15 wins, 7 draws, and 16 defeats in 38 games.

Recall that it was at the peak of their struggle in the said season that their veteran coach, Abdul Maikaba decided to resign.

Jangora Ahmed and Ahmed Yaro Yaro Garba served as the club’s interim coaches throughout the remaining games of the season.

After the season ended, the former coach of Enyimba of Aba, Usman Abdallah was said to be the frontrunner for the job.

However, Kano Pillars decided to go for a younger manager, Paul Offor who has signed a two-year contract with the NPFL giants.

Recall that Offor made his name in Nigerian league football when he helped Sporting Lagos to gain promotion to the NPFL ahead of the 2023-2024 season.

Unfortunately for him, he was sacked in the middle of the league campaign due to a poor run of games which contributed to the club’s relegation.
