Crypto Entrepreneur, Blord Released After Days In Police Detention
Prominent crypto entrepreneur, Linus Williams, better known as BLord, has been granted bail following three days in police custody.
The news was shared by controversial social media activist VeryDarkMan on his Instagram page on Friday.
Naija News earlier reported that the Nigeria Police Force confirmed the arrest of a crypto billionaire, Linus Williams, popularly known as BLord.
According to a statement on Tuesday by the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, BLord was arrested for offences related to alleged internet fraud, terrorism funding, and violation of the CBN act based on complaints lodged against him and his company.
Adejobi promised that the Police would do due diligence in the investigations into the allegations against the crypto entrepreneur and ensure Nigeria’s cyberspace is safe and secure.
“The FCID (NPF-NCCC) is currently investigating complaints lodged against BLORD GROUP, BLORD REAL ESTATE LTD, BLORD JETPAYE LIMITED, and BILLPOINT TECHNOLOGY,” the statement partly read.
In an update that has since gone viral, VeryDarkMan stated that Blord was released after significant pleading.
“After much begging and crying, Blord is out. He will be returning next week to face all his alleged crimes. I trust the @npf_nccc will ensure justice is served. See you next week, Mr. Influential,” he posted.
Meanwhile, the Blord Group refuted the allegations of his arrest, explaining that he was merely invited for questioning.
