Super Eagles of Nigeria midfielder, Alhassan Yusuf, has completed his move to Major League Soccer (MLS) club, New England Revolution.

Alhassan Yusuf, 24, moved to the Major League Soccer club from Royal Antwerp, a prominent team in the Belgian Pro League, with the transfer fee remaining undisclosed.

Yusuf has committed to a three-year deal, with the option to extend for an additional year, showcasing his long-term commitment to the club.

Caleb Porter, the head coach of New England Revolution, has expressed his excitement about the arrival of Yusuf, praising his versatility and skills.

In a statement on the club’s official website, Porter described Yusuf as an all-around central midfielder, highlighting his ability to contribute in both the defensive and offensive aspects of the game.

He emphasized Yusuf’s athleticism, box-to-box capabilities, defensive prowess, and his potential to add dynamism to the team’s attacking play.

Porter also noted that Yusuf’s arrival reinforces the team’s commitment to recruiting players at the peak of their careers, each with a winning mentality.

“Yusuf is an athletic, box-to-box central midfielder that has all the qualities we look for in our double pivots,” the coach told the club’s official website.

“He is very complete on both sides of the ball and will bring ball-winning defensively and verticality to our attack.

“Alhassan Yusuf is another addition who is in the prime of his career and has championship pedigree.”
