NSCDC Arrests 32-Year-Old Man In Kano For Job Scam
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Kano has arrested a suspected fraudster accused of swindling individuals by offering them fake job opportunities within the Kano State government ministries.
The arrest was confirmed in a statement released on Wednesday by the command’s Public Relations Officer, Ibrahim Abdullahi, who spoke on behalf of the State Commandant.
The suspect, identified as 32-year-old Mu’azu Mohammed Ibrahim, was apprehended after weeks of persistent tracking.
“The suspect, Mu’azu Mohammed Ibrahim, 32 years old, a resident of Sagagi Quarters, Kano Municipal LGA, was arrested after weeks of intense tracking of his whereabouts, following complaints lodged by individuals, mostly women, who had been duped by the suspect of more than ₦1.2 million,” Abdullahi stated.
Ibrahim allegedly deceived his victims by posing as a high-ranking government official with the ability to secure them employment in various government ministries, departments, and agencies. However, these promises turned out to be fraudulent.
The NSCDC spokesperson further noted that the investigation into the matter has been completed, and the suspect will soon face charges in court brought by the corps’ legal unit.
