Enugu Rangers Qualify For First Round Of CAF Champions League

Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) reigning champions, Enugu Rangers have qualified for the first round of the 2024-2025 CAF Champions League.
Enugu Rangers made it to the money-spinning round after they played a 1-1 draw at home against US Zilimahjou of Comoros in Uyo earlier today, August 23. The draw earned the NPFL champions a 2-1 aggregate victory over their visitors.
It was a hard-fought match, and Rangers had to wait until the 79th minute before Augustine Kenechukwu broke the deadlock by converting a penalty after Ekeson Okorie was brought down inside the penalty box.
However, their opponents managed to equalize six minutes later, making for a tense final few minutes. Despite the effort of the visiting team to grab a winner, Rangers held on and secured the needed draw.
Meanwhile, Nigeria’s second representative in the CAF Champions Leagues, Remo Stars, touched down in Casablanca earlier today in style for their second-leg tie against AS FAR of Morocco.

Remo Stars, who finished second in the NPFL last season, travelled to Morocco with a 2-1 advantage from the first leg.
The second leg of their CAF Champions League preliminary round tie will take place at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat at 9 p.m. on Sunday, August 25.
