Heartland FC: Gov Uzodimma Mourns Coach Obi
The Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma, has described the death of the head coach of Heartland Football Club, Christian Obi, as a sad loss the to team, fans and the state.
Hope Ozodimma said the late Christian Obi was a perfect gentleman who showed dedication to his duty as coach of Heartland FC.
Naija News reported that Obi died during a ghastly motor accident involving the team and a parked truck, on the team’s journey to Abakaliki, Ebonyi State for a football match, on Friday.
In a statement on Monday, Uzodimma said, “I am deeply saddened by the tragic accident that claimed the life of Coach Christian Obi. He was a perfect gentleman whose dedication to Heartland FC was evident in every aspect of his work.
“Coach Obi poured his heart and expertise into the club, always striving to see it flourish. His passion, leadership and kindness touched the lives of many, and his loss will be felt profoundly by all who knew him. My heartfelt condolences go out to his family, the Heartland FC family and everyone affected by this tragedy.
“May God grant you all the strength to endure this painful loss and bring you comfort in the days ahead. The Government is ensuring that those hospitalized fully recover from the injuries.”
