Nollywood actor, Baba Rex, has berated Nigerians for making controversial singer, Speed Darlington, look like the victim in his clash with his senior colleague, Burna Boy.

Naija News reported Human rights lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, confirmed that the media personality was arrested in Lagos last Friday and then transferred to Abuja, where he was detained.

The lawyer revealed that Darlington’s detention stemmed from a formal complaint filed by Burna Boy.

He was accused of defaming and cyberstalking the Grammy Award winner.

Darlington was released to his lawyer on Tuesday evening after meeting the bail conditions set by the police in Abuja.

Adeyanju disclosed this in a post on his X account late Tuesday.

He appreciated those who contributed to the singer’s release and commended the police in the IRT department for their professionalism.

He equally commended the efforts of popular activist Omoyele Sowore and another legal counsel, Stan Alieke, in ensuring Speed Darlington’s release.

Before Speed Darlington’s release, some Nigerians had attacked Burna Boy for failing to release the singer or charge him to court after 72 hours of his arrest.

In a post via Instagram, Baba Rex questioned Nigerians, expressing displeasure over the arrest.

He wrote: “This life sha. Person insult person for social media. People go laugh and comment. When the person take action, dem go turn against person wen collect insult. This Burna Boy matter, so it was okay for akpi to disrespect him.”
