Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen continued his impressive scoring streak in the Turkish Super Lig, further solidifying his impact since joining Galatasaray on loan from Napoli.

On Monday, October 28, Victor Osimhen netted his fourth goal of the season during a thrilling Istanbul Derby, where Galatasaray edged out city rivals Besiktas with a hard-fought 2-1 victory.

The 25-year-old Nigerian forward showcased his aerial prowess by heading home a perfectly timed cross from Gabriel Sara in the 67th minute. This decisive goal doubled the host’s lead, demonstrating Osimhen’s ability to position himself perfectly in the box. Despite Besiktas narrowing the gap with a goal in stoppage time, Galatasaray held on to secure a crucial win.

With this latest goal, Osimhen has now scored in three consecutive league matches, including a spectacular overhead kick against Antalyaspor in his previous outing, marking a successful return from injury. His performance has not only helped Galatasaray maintain their momentum but also highlighted his potential as a key player in the squad.

The victory has allowed Galatasaray to consolidate their standing at the top of the Turkish Super Lig, amassing 28 points from 10 matches. This win has created a notable six-point cushion ahead of second-placed Samsunspor.

Meanwhile, Besiktas find themselves in fourth place with 20 points, struggling to find their rhythm.

Under the management of Okan Buruk, Galatasaray have exhibited a formidable form, now boasting a record of eight wins and two draws in their last ten matches across all competitions. Over this span, the team has scored an impressive total of 32 goals while conceding only 12, showcasing a strong offensive output coupled with defensive resilience.

Osimhen, who had already registered three goals and four assists in just five appearances before Monday’s match, has certainly validated his high-profile loan move to the Turkish side. His performances have caught the attention of major European clubs, with Chelsea reportedly keeping a close eye on his development as they consider a potential move in 2025.
