Bobrisky: It Makes No Sense, I Won't Honour Your Invitation - VeryDarkMan Dares EFCC

Prominent social media activist, Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, has been released on bail following his arraignment on charges of alleged impersonation by the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).

Granted bail on Friday, the influencer was required to post N2 million alongside two sureties, each providing the same amount.

As part of his bail conditions, the court instructed VeryDarkMan to surrender his international passports and other forms of identification.

His arraignment followed the release of a viral video where he appeared in a police uniform, introducing himself as the “Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) of the online division,” a portrayal the police condemned as unauthorized.

The NPF announced its intent to investigate the video, seeking to clarify how the activist obtained the uniform and under whose authority he acted.

In response, VeryDarkMan issued an apology to the police, clarifying that his video was not meant to impersonate the agency.

He said, “I didn’t intend to impersonate the police in anyway and I tender my unreserved apologies to the Nigeria police force and the office of the inspector general of police.

“I will like to use the medium to tell the general public to always seek permission from the police or other law enforcement agencies before using anything that might look like their uniform.

“You might want to use it for good but there are others that might want to use it for bad, so it’s good to get full approval before using anything that might seem impersonating👍 @nigeriapoliceforce.”
