Christmas: Remember The Needy - Govs Mbah, Makinde, Diri, Adeleke Tell Christians

Governors Peter Mbah, Seyi Makinde, Doye Diri and Ademola Adeleke have enjoined Nigerian Christians to spread love and unity as they celebrate Christmas.

The Governors of Enugu State, Oyo State, Bayelsa State and Osun State; Mbah, Makinde, Diri and Adeleke, advised Christians to remember the needy in the society.

In their separate Christmas messages on Wednesday, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors prayed for Jesus Christ’s blessings on citizens as they mark the season.

Enugu State Governor, in a short message on his X handle, said, “As we celebrate Christmas, may peace and joy reign in our homes, filling our hearts with warmth and laughter.”

Governor Adeleke, in his message, reminded Christians the need to promote peace and shun any form of violence during celebration.

I extend my warm wishes to Christian faithfuls in Osun State and beyond as we mark this year’s Christmas. The birth of Jesus Christ is a manifestation of the power of love and remind us of the essence of compassion.

“In the mood of celebration, I urge us to take a moment to reflect on the message of renewal that the birth of Jesus Christ signifies, promoting activities that will unite not divide, build not destroy, and bring peace not conflict.

“It is also my sincere appeal that we extend hands of kindness to the needy and the weak in the society, spreading love and generosity beyond borders. That is the essence of Christmas and it is most essential that at a time like this, no one is left to their fate. Merry Christmas and wishing you a prosperous new year ahead,” Adeleke said.

On his part, Governor Makinde prayed for the healing of victims on the Ibadan rice-sharing stampede.

Wishing you and your loved ones a merry Christmas. As we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, let us continue to pray for our dear State and nation. We also pray for all those who are mourning the loss of their beloved children at this time, may God continue to comfort them,” Makinde prayed.

Bayelsa State Governor, in his message, thanked the state’s residents for their support of his administration. He promised he would continue to work to provide good governance.

“On behalf of my family and the Government of Assured Prosperity, I wish you all a blissful Christmas celebration.

“Your steadfastness and overwhelming support throughout this year is greatly appreciated, and we hope to enjoy more as we strive to deliver the dividends of democracy to our land and our people through our A.S.S.U.R.E.D Prosperity Agenda.

“It is a season of love and selfless giving, so remember ye one another with kindness,” Diri said.
